"WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?"/"WHAT AREAS DO YOU SERVICE?"
From humble beginnings in Colorado, Sunbeam Energy has grown to service 12 states and Washington DC. We are currently working in Colorado, Arizona, California, Florida, Maryland, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, South Carolina, Nevada, Texas, Virginia, and Washington DC with more states to come!
“HOW MUCH MONEY DO I SAVE WITH SOLAR?”
The short answer is that you will save thousands of dollars, all without having to change your monthly budget!
That’s one of the best things about solar and something that makes it a completely unique type of investment - you pay for it with money you have already budgeted for electricity every month.
Today we are able to finance solar without any down payment in such a way that the payments are similar to (and often even less) than what you are currently paying the utility company! The difference is that there is an end in sight when you install solar. Compare that to the utility company which will continue to send you a bill as long as you are using them.
Over the past 12 years the average cost for electricity has doubled and there are no safeguards to stop those rate increases in the future. Experts say that based on historic cost increases and growing demand, the rates will double again in 12 years.
When your panels are installed and turned on, your electric bill will be eliminated and the money that you used to spend with your utility can be used to pay off your personal power plant that you own and control.
Solar payments are fixed each month. They never go up and they have a clear end date.
Can your utility company give you an end date to payments?
“WHAT HAPPENS IF I SELL MY PROPERTY?”
When you sell your home, the solar system stays with the home. The new owner does not have to take over payments, they just pay more for the home as a result of the value the panels add.
As a result, the new owner’s mortgage ends up covering whatever remains on your mortgage and whatever remains on the solar loan, and of course you get to keep the difference.
It’s more or less the same as if you financed another home improvement project; once installed, the panels are considered part of the home and that is reflected in the home’s value.
In most cases, the value added is similar to what you paid for the panels in the first place! That means that with every payment, you are essentially paying yourself instead of paying the utility company.
Even if you sell your home before the loan is paid off, you are able to take the value of the system with you due to the increase in property value. This makes solar one of the best ways to add value to your property.
“WHAT HAPPENS IF I NEED A NEW ROOF OR A PANEL IS DAMAGED BY HAIL?”
When you have the need for a new roof, (after a hail or wind storm) call us for an inspection of your roof and panels. After we document the damage, you can use one of our preferred roofing partners, or hire your own roofing company.
We will coordinate with the roofer of your choice to dismount the panels and remount them after the roofing is complete.
The good news is that all major insurance companies will cover the removal and remounting of panels as part of the roofing process as well as the replacement of any panels damaged by hail.
“WILL SOLAR POWER ALLOW ME TO GO OFF-GRID?”
Yes and no. If you already have an electric meter on your home, by law, you have to stay connected to that grid.
However, if you add one of our battery options to your solar panel system, your home will still have electricity if the grid goes down and can store power for you to use at night. In effect you are “off-grid” since you are not using any outside power.
If you want security, independence and peace of mind knowing that you are protected from electric outages, then you may want to add a home battery to your property as well.
If you own a property without an existing electric meter, then you can be off-grid with a solar array to collect energy, and a battery to store and distribute that electricity.
“ARE SOLAR PANELS REALLY ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY?”
Unfortunately, there is a lot of inaccurate and outdated information around. A lot of people don’t know it, but these days, most solar panels are carbon neutral in 6-18 months! On top of that, we offset 100% of the carbon emissions associated with the shipping and installation.
“WHAT INSTALLATION OPTIONS DO I HAVE?”
Most of our customers opt for a traditional roof-top installation on a South, East or West facing portion of the roof, but that is not the only option out there.
If your roof is shaded throughout the day, you can still go solar. The easiest way to do so is with a ground-mounted system in a sunnier part of your property.
In addition to ground mounted options we are proud to offer innovative solar installation options such as custom sheds, carports and shade structures with solar built in. Get the custom outbuilding you’ve been dreaming about with the added benefit of providing enough solar panels to power your home!
“DO THEY WORK IN WINTER?”
Yes, solar panels work in the winter. Even when they get temporarily covered by snow, their dark coloring means that they are typically clear of snow within a day or so, even after heavy snowfalls, without the need to manually remove it.
While the shorter days do mean that they produce less power during the winter, this is offset to some extent by the fact that the panels operate more efficiently during colder temperatures. The rest of the decrease in output is offset by Net Metering.
Net Metering doesn’t just allow you to get credit for power you don’t use during the day to use at night, it also allows you to get full credit for all the excess power you make with the extra hours of sunlight during the summer and use it during the winter months when panel production is not as high.
“HOW CAN I TELL IF THEY ARE WORKING?”
You get live production reports from a built-in monitoring app that can be downloaded to any smart phone, laptop, or tablet. This report shows electric production panel by panel.
If you have a panel that is not above 95% efficiency your app will show you so you can call us for a replacement. Your system comes with a 25 year production warranty.
“WHY SHOULD I GO WITH SUNBEAM ENERGY?”
We created Sunbeam Energy because we’ve had enough experience in solar power to understand how the industry works and appreciate how much better solar companies can be.
We’ve watched as the price of solar equipment plummeted while the cost to the homeowner barely budged. We saw that it was time for a new kind of solar company and we’ve reduced our margins accordingly to bring you the best equipment out there at an unbelievable price.
On top of that, by conducting our appointments virtually instead of intruding into your home, we are able to get you directly in touch with an expert solar designer and eliminate the need for overpaid sales people and excessive drive time. As a result, we’ve decreased our company overhead AND our carbon footprint, creating additional savings in the process that get passed on to you.
There is no longer a need to compromise on quality to find the best pricing!
